No matter which class you play in FFXIV, there are numerous opportunities for making Gil. Crafting with base materials or farming them for their raw value are both efficient ways of earning extra cash.
Some high-profit activities like running EX trials and Eureka content require RNG for success, yet can provide steady income without needing Market Board sales. Furthermore, the Allied Societies can be an excellent source of ffxiv gil.
- Gathering
Gil can be earned in many different ways in Final Fantasy XIV. While you could do things such as complete quests, perform duty roulettes and work on your challenge log, you could also try gathering materials or looting items for sale on the Market Board to earn additional Gil.
The Scrap Salvager in Idyllshire from Heavensward expansion provides higher level crafting materials and can save time by selling them all at once, rather than searching far and wide for them. Treasure map parties may also yield decent earnings per hour – although their earnings depend on how far into a patch you are. Nonetheless, this method is great if you have patience enough to play long and earn their gil slowly over time.
- Undercutting
Gil is essential in Final Fantasy XIV; players need it to purchase weapons and mounts that boost their power level as well as furniture for their living spaces, access iLvl cap raiding content without farming for tomes and access tomes without any hassle.
Selling equipment and food on the Market Board is one of the fastest ways to generate significant amounts of Gil in Final Fantasy 14. Players can also earn significant sums of cash through performing Guildleves, completing tasks on Duty Finder, or killing humanoids in dungeons.
When selling items online, the ideal time and place for this task is usually at night when competitors are asleep and prices can easily be undercut to make more sales.
- PvP
PvP in Final Fantasy XIV can be an excellent way to save f14 gil. Along with the usual rewards you receive from Duty Roulette (especially Tanks and Healers), guildhests and raids offer additional chances to increase Gil savings. Furthermore, PvP allows you to work towards some harder achievements such as Desynthesizing 10,000 items with one class or leveling up a crafter guild to higher ranks – both excellent strategies to make Gil faster!
Contrary to some MMOs, Final Fantasy XIV includes several Gil sinks within core gameplay – Challenge Logs, Duty Roulettes and Player in Need runs all offer small payouts when completed – giving a small boost every time! Although these may be smaller income sources than questing or crafting alone, they’re certainly worth picking up whenever you can!
- Treasure Hunting
FFXIV contains several gil sinks built into its core gameplay, from quest rewards to dungeon and raid boss chests, duty roulette and the Challenge Log. Farming opportunities exist via Leve quests; hunting or gathering for Leve quests is another method, or they could cook and garden themselves!
Aetheryte travel systems can also be a significant drain on Gil, particularly later when their costs begin increasing with each teleport. While one teleport might seem harmless enough at first, repeated travel between different zones for Leve and hunts or story content quickly adds up over time.
Ways of saving Gil here include not eating all the food that drops and selling it on the Market Board for decent earnings or desynthesizing it into crafting materials (this can be beneficial if your crafter level is high enough). Hunting treasure maps is also an easy and quick way of earning quick Gil quickly.
- Crafting
Crafting is the quickest and easiest way to save Gil in Final Fantasy XIV, providing plenty of in-game currency that can be spent on gear, glamour items, minions or anything else that can help set your character apart from others.
As with other professions, leveling crafting professions such as Armorer, Goldsmith and Alchemist will bring in significant profits when selling the items on the Market Board. You may also earn some additional earnings by completing Treasure Maps or sending retainers out on ventures.
However, it’s important to keep in mind that prices can change rapidly; therefore, checking the Market Board on a regular basis is essential in staying abreast of what’s selling and at what price.
